SINGAPORE’S TNBT WINS CONTRACT TO STAGE MAJOR EVENT IN DOHA

Singapore, 5 November 2008 - In a first for Singapore, home grown multi-modal communications company TNBT Worldwide has scored a significant win in the Middle East by being appointed to organise and host the 4th Economic Freedom of the Arab World Award Presentation 2008 in Qatar, Doha.

TNBT Worldwide comprising of its Advertising (CRUSH), Public Relations (BANG), Event (BOOM) and Interactive (REAP) arms has been appointed by the Economic Freedom of the Arab World Award committee to organize their 4th annual event this year. The Awards, which will be held on 5th November 2008 in Doha, Qatar will be attended by key policy-makers, opinion leaders and business decision-makers from within the Arab world.

Mr Lim Ban Hoe, International Enterprise Singapore's Regional Director, Middle East & Africa, said "IE Singapore is excited about TNBT's success in securing the "4th Economic Freedom in Arab World Awards Presentation" project. We are glad to have been able to facilitate the successful bidding of this project for TNBT with the support of our network of contacts in the Middle East, particularly in Dubai and Oman. Being one of the first Singapore media companies benefiting from IE Singapore's overseas assistance, TNBT's success is an encouraging showcase for other Singapore media companies and SMEs in general, who are similarly looking to expand their business footprint in the Middle East."

CEO of the International Research Foundation, Mr Azzan Qassim Al Busaidi said, "We were looking for a total communications group who could collaborate with us effectively to create a concept for this year's award ceremony and follow through with its implementation. The proposal from the TNBT group of companies fitted our brief and their credentials are strong. We believe the project will be well-managed by TNBT".

CEO of TNBT Worldwide, Mr Palani Pillai said, "We are very happy to receive this important assignment from the International Research Foundation to organize the highly esteemed Economic Freedom of the Award World Award Presentation in Qatar this year. This is a significant project for us at TNBT. As a Singaporean born communications agency, we are honoured to have this opportunity to offer our expertise in the Middle East."

TNBT's work for the Award will encompass a wide range of marketing communications including public relations, advertising, events organization and interactive services. The award presentation will be held during the Economic Freedom of the Arab world Conference from the 5th to 6th November 2008.

The Awards this year, titled "Engage Empower Excel" is to award and recognize the achievements of Arab nations that persist in increasing the level of economic freedom in their countries

“The Middle East is an exciting market with many opportunities and Bang PR must seize the day,” said Ms Koh.  Believing that a local-born PR company can make it big regionally, she undertook the bold step and accepted an invitation from International Enterprise Singapore, the government agency which seeks to promote the overseas growth of Singapore-based enterprises, to explore the Middle East market.

“I was very well-received by the people I met in Muscat, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. All of them were equally welcoming,” said Ms Koh of her trip to the Gulf earlier this year.

The Singapore brand for efficiency and creativity gave her a head start, and BANG landed its first contract soon after her first meeting with her Omani hosts, to organise the prestigious annual Gulf event, to be staged in Doha, the Qatar capital this month.
